Sangla Balkumari Secondary School

Sangla Balkumari Secondary School (SBSS) is a government-run public school located in Tarakeshwor Municipality–1, Sangla, Kathmandu, Bagmati Province. Established in 2008 B.S. (1951 A.D.), the school has a long-standing history of serving the local community and has steadily evolved over the decades. What began as a primary-level institution has been gradually upgraded to lower secondary and secondary levels, and today SBSS offers education from Early Childhood Development (ECD) to Grade 12.

Operating in line with government rules and regulations, SBSS is committed to delivering quality education through close collaboration with parents, community members, and government stakeholders. The school emphasizes academic accountability while also nurturing students’ social, moral, physical, and emotional development. To support holistic learning, SBSS provides access to facilities such as a library, science laboratory, and computer lab. Instruction is delivered in English, supported by well-trained teachers, supportive staff, and co-curricular activities like Scout and Child Club programs.

 According to the 2081 IEMIS report published by the Center for Education and Human Resource Development, the school currently serves 477 students, reflecting its continued role as an important public educational institution in the area.
