About Us

Kanya Mandir Secondary School, established in 2003 BS, was founded on a strong belief in the value of girls' education. Its creators aimed to establish an institution that would prioritize and foster girls' empowerment through quality education. Since it opened, the school has focused on excellence, nurturing students' intellectual and personal growth. As the second girls' school in Kathmandu, it has maintained a well-deserved reputation for providing high-quality education for over 75 years. Throughout its extensive history, the school has remained committed to teaching excellence and ensuring the well-being of each student, while continually adapting to the evolving needs of contemporary society.

Tragically, the school's historic building was destroyed by a massive earthquake in 2072 BS. Nevertheless, with economic grants and assistance from USAID, the school was rebuilt into a new, exemplary institution. It has since implemented innovative policies and programs to improve educational quality. Furthermore, the school has embraced new technology, including smart boards, projectors, and interactive whiteboards, in every classroom to enhance the learning experience. Kanya Mandir Secondary School is proud to announce its designation as an exemplary school by the Kathmandu Metropolitan City, a testament to its unwavering commitment to educational excellence and innovation.

The school provides a child-friendly environment, supported by a team of qualified and experienced teachers. Currently, Kanya Mandir Secondary School offers classes from pre-primary (Play Group/Nursery/KG) up to grade 12. The school's educational environment is significantly enhanced by the support of numerous generous and helpful individuals. With their assistance, the school has also been able to provide scholarships for underprivileged and talented students. Kanya Mandir Secondary School also arranges periodic subject-wise visits. The school maintains ongoing communication with parents to solicit necessary support and feedback, and it hosts an excellent annual parent honors program.
