ABOUT

Shree Jay Kisan Secondary School, Dharahari, Rautahat, is located in the central part of the east-west and north-south axes of the former Village Development Committee (VDC) Dharahari. It lies in Ward No. 9 of Devahi Gonahi Municipality, Rautahat district, situated in Madhesh Province of Nepal. The school is accessible to nearby villages such as Dharahari, Dipahi, Pothiyahi, Jaynagar, Prempur Gonahi, and Devahi. 

In 2006 B.S., a thatched house was purchased for a small amount of money from Prempur Gonahi village, and on land provided mainly by the late Dulam Ray Yadav and the late Saraflal Ray Yadav, the Shree Lower Primary School Dharahari Bazar was established in the then Bara district. During that time, classes from Kindergarten to Grade 3 were conducted. In 2009 B.S. (1952 A.D.), the school was upgraded and renamed as Shree Upper Primary School, expanding to include classes 4 and 5 and in 2011 B.S., the school was further upgraded under the name Shree Middle English School Dharahari, District Bara, and started teaching classes 6 and 7.

Realizing the needs of the community, and with the courage of educational leaders along with the tireless efforts and support of farmers, laborers, and youth, in 2026 B.S., the school received approval to conduct classes 8, 9, and 10 under the name Shree Jay Kisan High School, Dharahari, Rautahat. Later, in 2029 B.S., an official recognition was granted by the Zonal Education Office, Birgunj. 

Since then, this educational institution has brought significant improvements and transformative changes in the economic, educational, and employment opportunities, as well as the lifestyle of the local community.

Focusing on the evolving demands and needs of the time, in 2064 B.S., the school received procedural approval from the Higher Secondary Education Board, Sanothimi, Bhaktapur, to operate Grades 11 and 12 (in Education and Commerce streams), and was renamed Shree Jai Kisan Higher Secondary School, Dharahari, Rautahat. Later, in 2068 B.S., the school received approval to run the Science stream, and in 2076 B.S., approval was granted to run classes in the Humanities and Law streams.

Moreover, starting from Baisakh 2074 B.S., the school was permitted by the Council for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (CTEVT), Sanothimi, Bhaktapur to operate technical classes in Civil Engineering for Grades 9 and 10. Further approval was obtained on 2076 B.S. to run Civil Engineering classes for Grades 11 and 12 as well.

The educational progress and achievements of this school have had a positive impact on the community, and according to various standards and public perception, the school is recognized as a significant contributor to local development in the educational sector.
