Euro School Koteshwor is a modern international school located in Suryakot, Koteshwor, Kathmandu. It is empowered by the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) in collaboration with the renowned Euro Kids preschool brand. The school focuses on nurturing bright, confident, and globally minded students who are prepared for the future of Nepal and the world. It offers a balanced, child-centered education that combines international standards with practical learning, making it a premium choice for parents seeking quality primary education in the Kathmandu Valley.
The roots of Euro School trace back to 2007 when Euro Kids (Tangal) successfully introduced international preschool standards in Nepal. Building on this success, Euro School was officially established on 19th April 2008. As student numbers grew, it was first shifted to Hadigaun after two years. In 2018, the school expanded and relocated to New Colony, Hattigauda with improved infrastructure. The Koteshwor branch (also known as Euro School Suryakot Koteshwor) was established in 2018 as a sister branch of the main Hattigauda campus, bringing the same high standards closer to families in the eastern part of Kathmandu.
Euro School Koteshwor follows the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), designed for children aged 5–11 years. Developed by Fieldwork Education, the IPC features over 130 engaging thematic units that connect subjects like science, history, geography, and culture through real-world themes. It emphasizes three key learning goals: subject knowledge, personal development (such as being adaptable, empathetic, and resilient), and international-mindedness. Learning is activity-based, fostering 21st-century skills like critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, problem-solving, and communication. The curriculum is flexible yet rigorous, allowing adaptation to local needs while maintaining global relevance—unlike traditional rote-learning systems common in many Nepali schools.
Euro School Koteshwor stands out through its specific emphasis on the IPC framework tailored for primary learners in a Nepali context. It nurtures curiosity, creativity, and confidence in a way that directly prepares students for international opportunities, with a strong focus on holistic personal growth and global themes. The Koteshwor location offers convenient access for families in the area, combined with modern facilities in a dedicated campus. Unlike purely national-curriculum schools or even some other international options in Kathmandu, this branch uniquely blends Euro Kids’ early-childhood expertise with IPC’s thematic, skill-building approach, making it more accessible and child-friendly for local families seeking an affordable yet globally aligned primary education.
