Nepal Health Research Council Calls for Applications for Awards in Various Categories

On the occasion of the Establishment Day of the Nepal Health Research Council, applications are invited from Nepali scientists for the awards to be presented at the 12th National Summit of Health and Population Scientists in Nepal, scheduled to be held from 10–12 April 2026.

Interested applicants are requested to submit their applications within 7 days from the date of publication of this notice.

1. Health Research Award

Eligibility Criteria:

• The applicant must be a Nepali citizen.
• The research must have been conducted in Nepal.
• The research must be related to health.
• Applicants must submit scientific articles published in PubMed-indexed biomedical journals within the last five years (January 2021 – December 2025).
• The applicant must be the First, Last, or Corresponding Author in the submitted articles.

2. Young Health Researcher Award

Eligibility Criteria:

• The applicant must be a Nepali citizen under 40 years of age.
• The research must have been conducted in Nepal.
• Applicants must submit scientific articles published in PubMed-indexed biomedical journals within the last five years (January 2021 – December 2025).
• The applicant must be the First, Last, or Corresponding Author in the submitted articles.

3. Mrigendra Samjhana Medical Trust Young Health Research Award (Medical Doctor Category)

Eligibility Criteria:

• The applicant must be a Nepali citizen under 40 years of age.
• The applicant must be a medical doctor.
• The research must have been conducted in Nepal.
• Applicants must submit scientific articles published in PubMed-indexed biomedical journals within the last five years (January 2021 – December 2025).
• The applicant must be the First, Last, or Corresponding Author in the submitted articles.

4. Health Journalist Awards

Eligibility Criteria:

• The applicant must be a Nepali citizen.
• The applicant must have published or broadcast articles, writings, or scientific materials related to health research.
• The applicant must have been actively engaged in this field for the past five years.
• Applicants must submit complete materials published or broadcast within the last five years (January 2021 – December 2025).

Required Documents:

1. Copy of Nepali citizenship certificate
2. Curriculum Vitae (CV)
3. Published full articles (Full Paper with PubMed ID/Link)
4. Self-declaration stating that the applicant has not been disqualified under any prevailing laws of Nepal

Note:
Separate evaluation procedures will be applied for each award. Incomplete applications or those not meeting the criteria will not be considered.
