Codeavour 7.0, a national-level competition aimed at promoting Artificial Intelligence (AI), robotics, and coding skills among students, was successfully held on Monday, Magh 26, at Anupam Foodland in Battisputali, Kathmandu. The event was organized by SkillsUp in collaboration with Nima Education Foundation and Steampedia.
More than 300 students from over 50 schools and colleges across the country participated in the competition. Students aged 7 to 18 years presented technology-based innovative solutions under the theme "Technology for a Healthy Future." Around 100 projects were displayed during the event.

Three Tracks, One Goal
The competition was conducted under three different tracks.
Track 1: Innovation and Entrepreneurship
Under this track, students presented projects that used AI and coding to solve real-world problems, keeping the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the center.
Track 2: Wellness Wave AI-Robo Challenge
Students built robots using Quarky kits. These robots performed tasks such as vaccine delivery and patient rescue in simulated health crisis scenarios.
Track 3: Robo Soccer League
Students competed in football matches using manually built robots. This track tested the mechanical strength and wireless control capabilities of their creations.
Projects Focused on Health, Environment, and Safety
The exhibition featured a wide range of projects, including:
- Smart wheelchair
- AI-based urban rainfall detection system
- Fire and gas detection and alarm system
- Flood detection and early warning system
- Groundwater level monitoring system
- Air quality monitoring and filtration system
- LoRa-based emergency response system
- Smart greenhouse
- Carbon trapping and carbon cascade systems
- Sanitary pad dispense

Experts and Judges
The chief guest for the event was Prof. Dr. Sudan Jha of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Kathmandu University. He is listed among the world's top 2 percent scientists for 2025 by Stanford University and Elsevier. Dr. Sameer Kharel, a Human-Centric AI Enthusiast, was present as a special guest.
The projects were evaluated by a panel of judges, including:
- Sagun Dhungana, CEO of Digital and Beyond
- Gary De La Pomerai, Program Director, WEaRE
- Deepak Pantha, Head of Computer Science Department, Nirmal Secondary School, Damuali
- Prabin Bohara, National Innovation Centre
Speaking at the event, Nischal Pradhan, CEO of SkillsUp, emphasized the need to introduce children to AI and robotics at the school level. He said, "The coming age is the age of technology. Knowledge of AI and robotics is already necessary from school level. Codeavour is our small effort to connect children with technology from an early stage."
