ACCA Nepal and NCA College Organize IFRS Training for Secondary Level Account Teachers

ACCA Nepal and NCA College of Management, jointly conducted a one-day training session on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) for Grade 11 and 12 account teachers and department heads on Saturday, June 28, 2025, in Hetauda.

The "IFRS/NFRS Training" brought together 75 teachers representing 66 colleges from the districts of Bara, Parsa, Makwanpur, and Chitwan. The primary objective of the training was to help improve their knowledge of International Accounting Standards and apply them in their teaching.

The event was graced by Prof. Dr. Deepak Shakya, Vice Chancellor of Madhesh University, who served as the Chief Guest. In addition, the program was attended by representatives from the Nepal Examination Board, N-PABSAN, PABSON, HISSAN, and the Education Development and Coordination Unit, Hetauda.

Mr. Suresh Pandit, Chairperson of NCA College of Management, chaired the opening session. Mr. Rabin Katwal, ACCA Nepal Head, welcomed everyone and spoke, highlighting the objectives and the importance of IFRS training. The Tokens of Appreciation were presented to the respective Chief guest and other distinguished guests by the Chairperson of NCA.

The training sessions were led by Mr. Pawan Kumar Khadka, FCCA and CEO of IME Life Insurance Company Ltd., and Mr. Karna Thapa, FCCA and Executive Director of NCA College of Management, who shared practical knowledge on IFRS related to the syllabus of grade 12 Accounts, BBS, and BBA. Chairperson Mr. Pandit also gave a brief overview of the ACCA course on the digital Platform, which was recently launched by the NCA College of Management (effective from July 2025) to promote accounting education in Nepal.

NCA digital learning management system (LMS), an online platform that offers top-notch lectures, a practice question bank, mock exams, Q&A sessions and live online interaction with lecturers, among other benefits designed to help students who live in rural areas, out of valley districts or face financial difficulties in attend physical classes in Kathmandu.

At the end of the program, Mr. Jeevan Gadtaula awarded the certificates to all participants. The event was smoothly coordinated by respected educationist Mr. Narayan Acharya. This training reflects the joint effort of NCA College of Management and ACCA Nepal to increase the awareness of International Financial Reporting Standards.
