TU Publishes Notice Regarding Suspension of Equivalency
Degrees Offered in Nepal

Tribhuvan University, Office of the Rector, Curriculum Development Centre, Kirtipur, has published a notice regarding suspension of equivalency. According to the public notice of the University Grants Commission (UGC) of India dated December 27, 2023, the recognition of Techno Global University, Shillong, Meghalaya, India, has been canceled, stating it has not issued any educational certificates.

Furthermore, according to the public notice dated May 15, 2024, regarding Sangain International University, Manipur, India; the public notice dated January 16, 2025, regarding the cancellation of recognition of Pragyan International University, Jharkhand, India; and the public notice dated February 12, 2025, which prohibited Shri Jagdishprasad Jhabarmal Tibrewala University, Rajasthan, India, from enrolling students in PhD levels from 2025 to 2030;

Additionally, regarding CMJ University, Meghalaya, India, the Indian UGC has canceled its recognition and the state government has initiated dissolution. Following the notice dated August 20, 2025, which declared educational degrees awarded after 2014 as invalid for higher education and government service;

Since an investigation is ongoing regarding the equivalence of degrees obtained from these universities, this notice is issued to inform everyone that equivalency will not be provided for educational degrees obtained from the aforementioned universities.
