TU Approves Rs 28.12 Billion Budget for FY 2082/83

Tribhuvan University (TU) has approved a budget of Rs 28.12 billion for the fiscal year 2082/83 BS. The budget was endorsed during a TU assembly held on Asar 26 at the Prime Minister's official residence in Baluwatar. Registrar Prof. Dr. Kedar Prasad Rijal presented the proposed budget during the session.

Tribhuvan University (TU) has outlined programs focused on aligning education with labor market demands, curriculum development, and expense reduction measures. TU announced it will maintain its policy of introducing new subjects for teaching and research, as well as updating existing curricula. The budget prioritizes curriculum design and the provision of skill enhancement training for professors across various faculties and academic institutes, all within the framework of labor market-oriented programs.

The budget prioritizes supporting the development of skilled and technology-savvy human resources. It also focuses on encouraging Tribhuvan University’s departments and students to organize national and international conferences, workshops, and seminars, with proper financial support.

Similarly, the budget has also emphasized expanding the scope of the incubation centers, use of information technology and emphasizing on teaching learning, research, examination management and economic and administrative good governance.

It aims to improve and expand technical, labour market-oriented and knowledge-generating programmes, make research work effective and quality, and focus research on priority areas of the Government of Nepal. Likewise, emphasis will be laid on beautification and infrastructure of the university campus.

TU has also said that priority will be given to the completion of development works which are in the stage of completion and emphasis will be laid on reconstruction.
