The Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology has announced a decision to completely ban entrance preparation classes and bridge courses conducted prior to admissions at school and higher education levels.

Issuing a press statement, the Ministry stated that various institutions have been running programs under the titles of “Entrance Preparation” and “Bridge Courses” targeting students before the official admission processes begin. According to the Ministry, such programs have been found to negatively impact students’ psychology and hinder equitable access to education. Additionally, they impose unnecessary financial burdens on students and their families.

In response, a ministerial-level decision made on Chaitra 13, 2082 has mandated that all such programs be fully discontinued starting from Baisakh 1, 2083.

The Ministry has directed all concerned stakeholders to comply with this decision. It has also requested District Administration Offices to monitor whether such programs are being conducted and to initiate legal action in accordance with prevailing laws if violations are found.
