30th NELTA International Conference 2026

The Nepal English Language Teachers' Association (NELTA) is set to organize its 30th International Teachers’ Conference in the capital on January 30 and 31, 2026.

During a press meet held on January 28 , NELTA President Professor Dr. Laxman Gyawali provided details on the upcoming flagship event. He noted that while the conference is traditionally a three-day affair, it has been shortened to two days this year. This adjustment comes in response to the political climate surrounding the House of Representatives election scheduled for Falgun 21.

The upcoming election initially cast a shadow of uncertainty over the event. However, NELTA leadership emphasized the importance of maintaining their professional legacy.

NELTA Second Vice President Dr. Bhim Gautam said that this time, only around 800 teachers and scholars from 15 countries will participate. According to him, around 1,000 people from 20 countries took part in the conference in the last year.
