The Master's in Risk & Insurance Management (MRIM) program at Bagmati University is a four-semester graduate course designed to cultivate highly skilled professionals in the fields of risk management, insurance, reinsurance, actuarial foundations, data analytics, and regulatory frameworks. The program combines theoretical learning with practical experience through practicum courses, industry and educational excursions, a six-month internship, and a master's thesis.
Students in the MRIM program can specialize in one of five areas: Life Insurance, Pension Fund and Asset Management; Social Insurance; Non-Life Insurance; Reinsurance; or Risk Management. This specialization allows students to gain focused expertise that aligns with industry needs.
The program employs a modern, student-centered teaching and learning approach, incorporating interactive and case-based instruction along with problem- and project-based learning. Practical experience is emphasized through industry visits, simulations, and role-plays, all supported by technology-driven learning, research-oriented seminars, and the completion of a master's thesis to enhance analytical thinking and professional skills.
Eligibility
- A Bachelor's Degree from a recognized university with:
- a minimum CGPA of 2.0 under the semester system, or
- a minimum of 45 percent under the annual system.
- Applicants who do not meet the minimum academic requirement may also be considered, provided they have at least two (2) years of relevant professional experience in the banking, finance, insurance sector, or any other relevant sector.
- All applicants must successfully pass the MRIM Entrance Examination conducted by the Office of the Dean, Faculty of Management and Law.

Admission Process
Admission will be conducted in three stages:
- Written Entrance Test (GMAT-based format)
- Group Discussion
- Individual Presentation and Personal Interview
Candidates must qualify at each stage to be considered for final admission.
