The Faculty of Management (FOM) at Tribhuvan University (TU) centers its Master's level programs, including the MTTM, on developing managerial and entrepreneurial skills through a strong theoretical and practical foundation. The two-year, 60-credit hour program aims for students to gain a comprehensive understanding of national and global contexts. The MTTM program's mission is to produce senior management professionals for the travel and tourism industry in both the private and public sectors. This first advanced Tourism Management Degree is a research-based, semester-based program with a practical skill development focus, delivered by experienced faculty. Its globally acceptable curriculum, student-centered approach, and blend of MBA/MBS elements are designed for sectoral excellence, preparing leaders for Nepalese business with global perspectives, advanced managerial knowledge, and strong problem-solving skills.

Eligibility for Admission

Applicants for the Master of Travel and Tourism Management (MTTM) degree must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Educational Qualification: Candidates must have successfully completed the Bachelor's in Travel and Tourism Management (BTTM) or Bachelor of Hotel Management (BHM) programs. Alternatively, they must hold a Bachelor's degree in any stream, or any degree equivalent to these, from a college or university recognized by Tribhuvan University.
  • Academic Performance: Candidates must have obtained a minimum of a second division in their Bachelor's degree.

Entrance Examination:

  • Students are required to compulsorily appear for an entrance examination conducted by Tribhuvan University.
  • This entrance examination is based on the Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) format.
  • The merit list is typically published a couple of weeks after the examination.
