The Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS) is a common purpose program in an annual system designed to develop students into competent managers for any sector of organized activity. It is a four-year annual program introduced by the Faculty of Management, Tribhuvan University (TU). Public Youth Campus has unique features in BBS that enhance the students' academic program, and it gives backbone to the students who are willing to pursue their career as middle-level management.

Curricular Structure​

The Faculty of Management (FOM) recognizes the importance of both breadth and depth in its academic offerings. Therefore, the curriculum for the BBS degree is structured into four distinct course components:

  • Foundation in Allied Areas: A strong grounding in essential business-related fields such as language, economic analysis, legal environment, and quantitative methods is provided to prepare graduates to understand, analyze, and comprehend management concepts, theories, and practices.
  • Core Business Studies: This component encompasses and integrates all functional areas of business, offering graduates an appreciation for the diversity and interrelationships of business and management issues.
  • Specialization Opportunity: Students have the opportunity to concentrate in a specific area of specialization, such as accounting, finance, human resources management, or marketing, thereby gaining a degree of functional expertise.

Eligibility Conditions for Admission

Candidates applying for admission to the BBS program must meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Qualification: Successfully completed the Proficiency Certificate Level (PCL) or 10+2 in business/commerce, or an equivalent course recognized by Tribhuvan University (TU). Alternatively, candidates must have studied mathematics or economics as a full paper at the PCL or 10+2 level.
  • English Proficiency: Must have studied English as a full paper at the PCL or 10+2 level.
  • Minimum Marks: Must have secured the minimum marks at the PCL or 10+2 level as prescribed by the Faculty Board or the concerned Campus.
  • Additional Requirements: Must satisfy any other entry requirements or criteria, including the entrance test, as stipulated by the Faculty Board or the Campus.

Scholarships

The Campus offers scholarships to eligible students in a prescribed number, strictly adhering to Tribhuvan University (TU) regulations. Applications are mandatorily invited from qualified students for these scholarships. Selection for scholarship quotas will be made based on merit order according to the following priority:

  • Students from the merit list, economically disadvantaged and meritorious students, students from backward classes, and students from deprived communities.
  • Students who have passed the School Leaving Certificate (SLC) from a community high school in Nepal and the Intermediate of Commerce (I. Com.) or 10+2 examinations from a community intermediate college in Nepal.
  • Students who have passed the 10+2 examination from a community intermediate college in Nepal.
  • Students who have passed the School Leaving Certificate (SLC) examination from a community high school in Nepal.
