Kathmandu University’s School of Education is now accepting applications for a one-year program for the following programs:

  • PGDE in Yakthung/Limbu Language Teaching (PGDE-YLT)
  • PGDE in Maithili Language Teaching (PGDE-MLT)

The PGDE-MLT aims to develop educators who are proficient in Maithili culture, language, and script. It promotes multilingual and mother tongue-based education, enhances teaching skills, encourages research and community engagement, and contributes to the preservation and revitalization of the Maithili language.

The PGDE-YLT program is designed to prepare educators in Yakthung culture, language, and writing systems. It promotes multilingual, mother tongue-based education while enhancing teaching skills, encouraging research, and fostering community involvement to preserve and revitalize the Yakthung language. The program supports students’ cognitive development and contributes to Nepal’s linguistic and cultural diversity.

Entry Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university with a minimum CGPA of 2.0 or equivalent.
